Running loadout

Post by Spidermw81 »

I am planning on runing my 33 FBC with a full 255 gal tank of fuel and 0 gal of water. Where is the water tank and would it help trim the boat out or am I better shedding the wieght? -Matt

The water tank is just forward of the engine room. The fill is on the starboard side right around where the midships cleat is. Overall, the FBC's tend to squat more than the SF's until you get moving above 20 knots, so keeping the water tank at least partially filled is bound to help the trim. Unless I'm going somewhere where I'll be on a hook or mooring for a few days, I generally keep the water tank about 1/2 full. I figure why carry around the extra weight?

Part of the problem with the aft squatting is a lack of seating for the passengers on the 33FBC, the fly bridge has doesn't have the seating as the SF does so the passengers always seem to be in the cockpit area. You are very correct about the speed makes the boat ride correctly but I have noticed that the 33fbc seems to fall to one side or the other at higher speeds, not sure if this is load as I usually have a few passengers inboard. I need to use my trim tabs to level my boat from side to side when running. When running my boat seems to be more sensitive in the side to side ride. I don't need the trim tabs to help get the boat up on a plane or to trim fore and aft. Buzz
