There has got to be Hatteras named "Cat in the Hatt". If not, there should be, that is great.

Actually, I have seen "Cat in the Hatt" and "Catts in the Hat". But no "Catteras in the Hatteras" as far as I know. Frank B - IRGuy@aol.com "Phoenix" 1983 FBC Wilmington, NC

quote:Originally posted by alano I've spoken to few guys up here in the previous diesel - gas repower debate, they've used the Cummins 6btas - one had 250s and was about 22 knots - but he ran the guts out of it, one had 315s - was a couple of knots faster and I talked to a guy out of Lynnhaven who put the 370 Diamonds in and it cruised at 27 but he had to raise the salon deck to fit them. FWIW - the developers are buying up the marinas up here as well, fully expect 'dockumiums' and the demise of working marinas in the near future. Best regards, Alan. 1973 '35 Convertible Carol J Virginia Beach Alan, Do you recall any contact info for the guy out of Lynn Haven? I'd like to talk with him. I've only seen a 33 around here and that was last weekend.

Alan, I sent you my e-mail address. Just have him send me a reply if he is intrested in answering a few questions. At this point it doesn't look like the mechanical diesels will be an available option for very much longer.

Seafighter, I forwarded your address on and mentioned he should join here and we could all see the results. He's on the road a lot so may be a while catching up. Alan.

I have a 1976 '35 and installed 370 Cummins in 2001 . Boat has a cruise of 24 kts at 2600 rpm and 26-27 kts at 2800 rpm and 30 kts at wot 3000 rpm. We did not have to raise the saloon floor . Thanks Randy
