How would you like to see this bad boy lurking next to you? Here is the link to the story, at least as long as it is active: http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/science/03 ... index.html David Sumich Bertram33.com Forum Administrator

I'm not a lobsterman, but isn't there a size at which point a lobster can't be taken? It seems a shame that something that had lived for that long died on a trip to a zoo. If it had just been put back who knows how long it may have lived. Regards, Doug L. 1986 33 Bertram FBC Queen Elizabeth

That's exactly what my wife and I were saying. It is a shame. When I fish, I release really big fish just for that reason. As long as they weren't damaged in the catch. David Sumich Bertram33.com Forum Administrator

Doug, Ma. waters north of the Cape now follow the same rules as Maine has done for decades. Min/Max size (about 4 1/2 lbs max) notching egg bearing females & never taking a notched female. As far as Bubba, Herman, the one I caught was even bigger. After all the pictures were taken, I took him to an area of deep ledges about 1 1/2 miles offshore. I figured he had kept a lot of lady lobstas happy over the years & deserved to keep on doing his job. Al 1978 33 FBC NITES OFF

Al, I remember seeing a picture of Herman, but I don't remember how. Did you post a picture here, or a link to one somewhere else? David Sumich Bertram33.com Forum Administrator
