Tim, I'm sure you have looked in Ft Myers. There used to be a pretty good marina on the river. Would be a long way to go on one engine or a tow but may be worth the look. E.W, I can't tell you how many times I've walked the local docks looking at boats. I've looked at a Jearsy 36, a Bertram 42, a Be...

This is great stuff! Y'all could start your own repower consulting firm. Unfortunatly, I sold my boat (before doing what Tim is doing) but I can't stay away from this site. Tim, the Crusader people I have spoken with here in Jacksonville, Fl (they have a dist office here) sell to a lot of MerCruiser...

Kevin, I used rain X on my windows and found it helped quite a bit. Also, the eching may be comming from hard water. You need to get a water softner for you scrub downs. If your marina has hard water (most do) the softner will do a lot to make your cleaning job easier. The eching problem will not be...

E.W. I sold my boat otherwise I would join you down in the Abacos. Long trip from Jacksonville but I was dying to do it. We are fixing up a house (I think you are doing one as well) and the boat lost the money battle....terrible thing, when your boat sale barely covers a kitchen rehab!! Next boat wi...

Ask the shipper to tow you! It would make it just fine. That would be a hell of a fishing trip! You could troll the whole way and not burn any fuel. No telling how many 1000 lbs marlin you could catch out there. I've seen a few listings on Yacht World for Bertram's located in Australia. There must b...

Sure would've hate to be behind that tranport when that beauty took the fall. I saw a brand new 33 Intrepid center console come off a trailer on I-95. What a mess. Boat was a complete loss. Sounds like some real work putting her back together....send us some pictures of the before and after. Will Ne...

Yes, on my boat (1989 FBC) I was also pleased to have found the windless wires snubed off in the anchor locker. Bertram seems to have done the wire run on all the boats. The wires dead end back near the engine room (not sure where as I had a marina guy do my windless). He added a windless breaker ri...

Gary, it appears you have been looking at a few boats (your posts range from fuel capacity to fumes). Let us know what you decide. I think all would agree, it is how you use the boat that decides design and power requirments. Blackfin and Bertram built some of the best all around designs and they we...

My office window overlooks part of the St Johns River and there is a Bertram 37 just sitting all pretty in the marina right in my line of sight. Plus I have a buddy who just repowerd his B35 and he is constantly calling me telling me to get off my wallet. So, I can't help but think about boats all d...

Just to kick a dead horse harder...spoke to the Crusader guys up in Michigan. The 8.1 385hp seems to be doing well in the market place. The significant difference between this power option and the MerCruiser (it is the same GM block) is 1) Crusader uses the GM fuel pumping system where MerCrusier us...

Frank, That is the cheapest price I have had for the twin gage set. Let us know how the install goes. I presume your boat is out of the water seeing that you are in Mass? Looks like a fun winter project. Thanks for the info...I too have a slow moving tach...good excuse if you ask me. Best Will Newto...
