Helm console

Post by will newton »

Have seen several examples of reconfigured helm consoles. Would like to reconfigure in order to flush mount instruments that are currently mounted all over the helm area. Anybody have a customizer that makes something nice for the helm area? Will Newton FBC 89

will newton-i purchased an 85 B33SF 5 years ago that had fallen off a transporter and had the entire fb takan off. i live on LI,NY and finished the project 1 1/2 yrs ago. my son & i built the fb console and had the suround done by jim ray inc. the fb is intirely diferent than from the original and the console was modeled after the original star track.we built the mold and jim ray did the fiberglass. he is one of the best people to have this kind of work done.i don't know where you live but can get you his ph# if you like. jim -argosportfishing@aol.com

Jim I'd like to see a picture of your console and your whole bridge layout if possible. Dave

Hey Jim, silly question, but what does a 33SF that has fallen off a transporter go for? Did it end up costing about the same after all the repairs, or did you end up getting a steal with just some innovation and elbow grease? David Sumich Bertram33.com Forum Administrator

Sure would've hate to be behind that tranport when that beauty took the fall. I saw a brand new 33 Intrepid center console come off a trailer on I-95. What a mess. Boat was a complete loss. Sounds like some real work putting her back together....send us some pictures of the before and after. Will Newton

Hey Jim, not sure which article you were referring to, but if it is the one regarding fuel tanks, it is listed under the owner tips section. Here is the direct link: Fuel Tank Descriptoion And please, call me David, we're all friends here!!! [8D] David Sumich Bertram33.com Forum Administrator

Jim. What happened to the pictures of your flybridge. I've got a "helm station forward" bridge of the '81 vintage. I'm curious to see what the other layout has to offer. One thing I like about the forward layout is that you get plenty of open room for moving around the bridge. Drawback is I can't easily see fish at the transom - cockpit cover and rocket launchers tend to obscure the view. LEt me know, my email is david.a.toepfer@exxonmobil.com if you want to send the pics direct. Thanks.
