Cool,The first one looked like a 33 and the second one looked like a 38.The video sure did not look like it was shot from a Bertram.

That ain't rough. Looks like one of my normal Bahama crossings. Like it's always flat the day before and the day after.... Gene Dugan Boca Raton, Fl. "Nauti Marie" 1989 33 FBC

I think the shorter of the 2 videos is the first. You can hear someone commenting on how rough it is and because of the conditions all of the boats are getting in a line. Then in the second video he comments that the Bert is about 40 feet off their stern and then both 33's go by them like they were standing still! That's great! I think I know the guy who posted those. I've sent him an email. Regards, Doug L. 1986 33 Bertram FBC Queen Elizabeth Marblehead, MA [img]

I do know the guy who shot the videos. He said they were charter boats and that they were in great shape. Regards, Doug L. 1986 33 Bertram FBC Queen Elizabeth Marblehead, MA [img]

I think they are on a single engine Cabo, in another video they comment on a similar Cabo passing them.

It was a Marlin Tourney in Cabo that was being fished, several videos on it.

I think the video was shot from a 31 Bertram; look at the very end of the video, you can see the aft cabin pillar.

I don't think so. The "camera" boat has a rail around the transom. That's not something you'd see on a 31. I'll email the "camera man" and ask him. Regards, Doug L. 1986 33 Bertram FBC Queen Elizabeth Marblehead, MA [img]

I stand corrected. The video was shot from: "A nicely refurbished and fast 31 Bertram." My apologies Rich. Regards, Doug L. 1986 33 Bertram FBC Queen Elizabeth Marblehead, MA [img]

Jags is a web-buddy of mine. The boat is a 31 bertram. It just has a stupid rail; but the interior is definitely a 31B. Jags has a 35 Viking with 3208 Cats and lives in FLA. Looks like some kind of tournment in Cabo. Someone said they were going to email Jags. I will also. Charlie Charlie

Charlie, I already emailed him. Given your well known opinion on the 35 Vike, I'm surprised he's a buddy![:p] Speaking of which, I was looking at a 35 Vike the other day. I finally know what you mean about it being a weird looking hull design. What's with the bulge amidships? Regards, Doug L. 1986 33 Bertram FBC Queen Elizabeth Marblehead, MA [img]

Here is what Tim had to say about the movies. Hi Charlie, Yes, on a 31B. Nicely refurbed and fast. We rounded Los Arcos in Cabo San Lucas and were traveling NNW I think. We could have gone faster, the boat had plenty left, but my 68 yo mom was on board and although she was fine, I think the captain was a little concerned. I'll go take a look at the pics, I think I have seen them before. Probably wait until tomorrow because the eye doctor dilated my eyes and I can barely see. Merry Christmas to you! Tim Yes Doug Tim and I have had words about the 35V hull form. I call it a "plow shaped hull" It has a big bulge in the middle and must pound in anything. He lives in Fla and fishes and cruises. The 35V does have a very nice salon. Charlie
