To say that the first annual Bertram Pride event was a success would be an understatement, as it was hailed fantastic by all who attended. Most arrived Friday, and were met by some of the sales team from Allied Richard Bertram who had lots of cool things for us. David and his lovely bride Alex was presented the book on Bertram's history. While Jose sadly could not attend, he surprised us all by sending a case of very good wine for everyone to enjoy, so we toasted and thanked Jose, hoping that we will see him at the next event or sooner. That evening after meeting at the dock, we had dinner at the Old Captiva House at Tween-Waters Resort, it was so good I think some of us may have licked our plates clean. Saturday morning, we board the boats and the BP Flotilla navigated the waters of the ICW north to Cabbage Key for our Luncheon Workshop on electronics with Bill Schuster of Sigma Marine in Tarpon Springs, FL, who had just driven 4 hours (each way), that morning. Not only did Bill show us the latest in electronics, be gave everyone a goody bag full of stuff too. BTW, anyone needing electronics, Bill will give the B33 group a discount, or if you need some advice just call him. I can tell from doing business with Bill for over 10 years, his advice and help has far exceeded any online discounter and is priceless. We took a group photo by our own "Official Event Photographer", Tim Stamm, who also designed and had printed some great shirts for us, which surely will become a cherished collectors item as the Bertram Pride events grow over the years. The flotilla departed for our return trip to Captiva Island to relax, check out each others boats, and for the kids to hang out. We were pleased to have Mike S.,Steve H. and George S stop in to say hello and meet everyone too. At the dock, we did another group photo with our boats in the background, with our BP shirts, and just enjoying our time together. That evening we caravanned to the Bubble Room restaurant where we escorted to our private dinning area on the third floor by our bubbly "Bubble Scout". If you have never been there, you need to check out the website and make it a point to dine there sometime. Once again, we had a great meal with more food then one could eat, along with company of 40 plus new and old friends. Later after a desert large enough to feed a small family, we waddled and rolled our way back to the boats for music, and more adult libations. After a few hours of visiting and relaxing, most of us turned in for the night. Sunday morning we had planned for a helicopter to take some group and individual aerial photos, however, the pilot had 100' ceilings and ground fog that morning, and we had to cancel as most were departing for home after lunch. We were all fairly worn out from all the fun over the last few days, so we had a late breakfast instead and hung out at the dock. While there were several hundred photos taken, I will post just a few to share with you, while David makes a Bertram Pride Event Photo Section for each year's event. It was wonderful meeting everyone and seeing there great looking boats too. Thank you all for making the First Annual Bertram Pride Event both successful and fun/ See you all next year!
