Great link and some nice photos. That guy did some nice work to be sure. Unfortunately, for him, I think this boat is now for sale. Even after rebuilding and "tweaking" the DD's the boat's not fast enough for him. I forget what the asking price is, but I seem to remember it was reasonable. Its in thehulltruth.com's For Sale section. Regards, Doug L. 1986 33 Bertram FBC Queen Elizabeth Marblehead, MA

This boat is really nice. I was on this boat in Ft. Lauderdale. I think the owner is the guy that owns Glastec. I was told by the Broker they actually took the engines out of the boat and majored them. My statement at that point , was why put old technology 892s back in? convert to Mans or something. By looking at the pictures, sure looks like they were majored "in" the boat to me. We looked at this boat right after looking at the new Bert 45. My wife said, she would rather have this one than a new one, and i would agree. I was done very nicely. Gene Dugan

On the Hulltruth's thread, the owner commented that he did not want to spend what he thought it would take to re-power the boat for his needs. Some people offered their opinions that they thought the boat could be re-powered for around $115K. He told them he was getting estimates for a lot more but would not elaborate. Considering that the 480hp Cummins are around $40K a pop (plus trans), I'll bet 800-900hp motors alone would cost $130K-$150K (for the pair). I have to say he did a beautiful job! Why he did not rebuild the 92's to TTIA spec's would be my question? You can bring them to 1150hp & 2450rpm for around 30k for the pair above a normal overhaul. I think he wanted a bigger Bertram! Gunny GunnyD Jim Davis Belfast Me
