side exhaust

While under way one of my side exhaust leaks exhaust fumes. It appears to be leaking where it goes through the hull. I've been told it's a common problem on the bertrams with side exhaust. I've also been told I can have the fiberglass exhaust pipe glassed to the hull side. Is this the correct way to make the repair? Has anybody else experienced this problem? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks - Rob
