I could be wrong, but the taped letter/number on the hull usually indicates an insurance salvage boat.. (See the boat behind for a similar number).. with so little (supposedly) damage one would wonder why the boat is an insurance write off. Re: the above comment.. I just went to the eBay site again to check one of the pics, (13:45 on Tuesday) since I thought I saw engine boxes extending from the aft cabin bulkhead into the cockpit.. and surprise!!! The listing has been deleted by eBay.. No explanation given. Frank B Somewhere between having made an offer and passing papers

Tim, it was a '77 FBC with some repairable damage. It was listed at $20K. David Sumich 1986 SF - 33 Megabites Huntington Harbour, CA Forum Administrator

I ran into the same type of listing on several hurricane boats last year, One fellow had bid on and won several boats from insurance co. auctions and then tried to flip them on Ebay, However he never paid the insurannce co. so he never actually had the boats to sell. This boat was probably still in the paperwork stage and the lister was trying the same scheme? He had a ZERO feedback with EBAY which says to me BEWARE! I saw the pictures of the damage and it certainly looked like a lot of work to me! 20k was way too much to pay for that boat. Gunny
