...I was in Miami watching the Pats spank the Dolphins. It was 80 degrees out and I was swimming in the ocean! Today I was at Gilette watching the Pats stomp the Jets and it was 30 degrees and snowing out! I'll take the win, but I'd rather have been in Miami! Ed, I work in the Mutual Fund industry. Specifically, I work on the advisor side in compliance, admininstration/over-sight, expense analysis, and financial reporting. There just aren't that many shops down in Florida that do what I do. Regards, Doug L. 1986 33 Bertram FBC Queen Elizabeth Marblehead, MA

I work in alternatives (Hedge Funds/FoF), I own a retained executive search firm that specializes in that area. In fact, last year I did a CCO search for a client ($2B+ HF) in midtown Manhattan, we needed someone who worked at the SEC doing field audits, then had some time in the industry at some place like PWH. We may know many of same people. Your personal stock has gone way up since last years SEC registration regulation. Do you work for MFS? 1979 Bertram 33' FBC ALEXANDRA Port Richey, Florida

You are on the insurance end of the funds, they do not appreciate your worth as much as the HF shops do. We were seeing total comps over 400 and up to 1.2! Most were btw 4 and 6 hundred. Tell you boss that the SEC sent a letter and will be in right after the first, and by the way, you will be on vaction that month. He will be very aware of your value after he returns from the bathroom.[:D] 1979 Bertram 33' FBC ALEXANDRA Port Richey, Florida

I did some work for MF's and insurance companies in the past, but they just could not bring themselves to step up to the plate at comp time. They think too much like bankers, and not enough like investment shops. If you ever want to make the switch let me know, and I will try to help you. 1979 Bertram 33' FBC ALEXANDRA Port Richey, Florida

Jax is pretty big on Banking and Insurance. That's a little closer. Anything North of WPB is to far north for me. You can have my job. I've had enough of Finance. I want to be a dockhand in a Marina. Gene Dugan

I'd prefer the east coast: Ft Lauderdale, West Palm, Stuart area. Unfortunately, banking and insurance doesn't really translate very well into what I want to do. I'd like to get into a Franklin Templeton or Harnsberger type of shop (i.e. management co.). Hedge Funds are tempting, but I have no experience in HF's.
