Hello all. I am new to this site and I want to thank you all for sharing your knowledge. I have spent hours reading posts and found the information you all share to be incredible. I have taken on a project that I believe is over my head but your forum has given me hope. I finally got the bertram home yesterday. I know very little of the history of the boat. What I do know is she has 454's and a fiberglass tank. The motors ran a year ago on a temporary tank. With all the posts I read I know I have to replace the fuel tank but I wanted to get the motors running first. I was hoping for suggestions on things to look for as major issues and tips on getting the motors ready to start up. Many of the links on the forum no longer display a page so I apologize if this topic has been covered already but I have also found an aluminum 275 gallon gas tank out of a 35 bertram that I was hoping would fit. Does anyone have the dimensions of the 33 sportfish gas tank.

Hi Jose, Welcome. The site got hacked a while back & a lot of good info was lost. There is a square box section at the bottom of the tank. It is about 5 1/2 " high. I think it was 32" x 34". On the 1984 SF we did, his stringers were a little further apart. The top rectangular section is bout 8" tall. Total tank height is 24". Diameter was 96". Fore-n-aft measurement was different between my 1978 FBC & Rick's 1984 sportfish as post 1980 they moved the tanks aft to clear the deck lip.
I have a feeling the other tank will NOT fit.

thank you Al. The square at the bottom of the tank I found is 49"x39"x7.5". Thank you for the information and it appears I will need to find someone to make a tank. If anyone knows a place that would be helpful. And thanks to captain tony for the contact information. Mine is 508-827-0279.

Many people used to use Luther's welding in Bristol R.I. It USED to be about $10 per gal. capacity. If your tank is recessed under the forward lip of the deck, then your tank like mine may have notches in the tank to clear the exhaust.
