33FBC BLACKWATER HOSE REPLACEMENT

Has anyone here ever replaced the blackwater hose from the tank to the pumpout on a 1987 or similar Bertram 33 Flybridge?

I don't see clearly how to access the end that connects to the pumpout. When it gets up near the gunwale it becomes hidden. It appears I may need to remove the hot water tank to access/see things better.

If you have done this job before on a 33 FBC I would really appreciate any insights you may have.

I believe the 87 has the galley on the starboard side as my 1988 does, if so, you should be able to access the deck fitting by removing the refrigerator.

It comes out easily by removing a few screws, pulling it out and unplugging the AC and disconnecting the DC (if equipped).

You’ll find a lot of room running along the back of the cabinets.

x2 on what Richard said. I replaced all of my sanitary hoses about 13 years ago. I went with the Shields Poly-X. Guaranteed not to stink, and they still don't! Well worth the extra money to me.

Move the fridge and you should have plenty of access.
