REMOVING MOTORS 454

Hi - i have only had my 35 for about 3 months -its a real restoration project lots of hard work - could anyone tell me how to remove the motors (454 S Gas ) all the header's are off gear box separated from shaft all hoses and wiring removed -How do you lift the motors out i have removed the cross members -so plenty of clearance -my problem is lifting points -i have a fork truck that can lift the motors from the rear area but it wont go into the cabin area - next is a motor lifter - any help would be appreciated- Thanks Raymond QLD Australia

Welcome to the site. Normally there are 2 lifting rings that are bolted to the intake manifold. With the exhaust manifolds off, I would also lighten the load by lifting out the tranny 1st. Put some blocks & wedges on the stringers to support the rear of the motors.
If you can't fit an engine hoist in the cabin I think you will have to pull the heads off also to get down to a manageable package.
