So some friends of mine just bought a new boat, a 50' Vicem. A downeast beauty if you've ever seen them. But still, it's not a Bertram !
Anyway the wife is having trouble sleeping with the splashing against the hull at night, have any of you guys had to deal with this ? It's like mother's milk to me...I hear that and I am down for the count.
I put the question up on the THT and the best suggestion I got (along with some pretty funny ones!) was:
Take a few of those noodle floats, run a line through them and wrap it around the water line of the boat from Port Amidships to Starboard Amidships cleats. No more blub, blub.
Has anyone solved this with a better solution ?
Thanks !

Happy New Year, Rick. Tell them to anchor someplace calmer!!!! "Wave slap" is tough to cure. They could probably lessen the effect by adjusting the anchor point from the bow to slightly aft with a line from the stern to the anchor line. Sometimes just a slight "cock" will make a big difference. The other option would be to tear up under their berth and really insulate with spray foam. Just a thought. I'm with you, it puts me right to sleep!

Hey Joe,
Happy New Year ! Been a while and I hope you guys are enjoying yourselves in NC these days. Must be fun hitting new destinations.
Thanks for the info and I will pass it along to them to see how it works. Others have said to actor to the stern which makes sense too. But I'm lucky, both the wife and I love the splashing.

Rick,
NC is awesome as far as the new destinations go. The only real thing that we miss is the blue water color....& February is a bit more nippy than Ft. Laud. We don't miss South Florida at all. It was getting crazy down there and this spot in NC is gorgeous. Take care.

Yep, it's a nice area and plenty of room. My brother's in-laws have a beach house on Oak Island, about 20 miles South of Wilmington and it's pretty easy to enjoy yourself there too. Glad the move worked out for you !
