Anchor mounting

I was wondering what people found as the best way to mount an anchor on a Bertram 35? I have a forward deck mount for the Danforth anchor but one of the tabs broke and I have had issues with it not holding well in rough seas, and a bit rough when you want to deploy t as the screw needs to be real tight to hold it. And in rough seas hard to secure it. The Rail mounts just seems like will destroy the rail and not hold up well in rough seas but I don't see many options.

If you're interested I have the original deck mounts for the danforth and will let them go cheap.....we're moving ! Best way though - mount a roller (for delta anchor) up there and install a windlass. You'll never be sorry. Rick Ticket 85 SF Merc 454 MPI's Falmouth, MA

Yea I was thinking that was probably the best way What do you do about the front chock/lights? I was thinking of putting the green an red lights off fly bridge. I might go with the deck mounts. How much do you want for it? Rick Ticket 85 SF Merc 454 MPI's Falmouth, MA

I have green and red on the sides of the flybridge house. Bow pulpit with roller and anchor windlass. Very clean looking and easy to retrieve / deploy. If you need pics lemme know.

I did a pulpit with windlass and runninget lights on the side of the pulpit. Bought the pulpit from a company in PA. Name is slipping me but it was about 1/3 of high tides price. And they matched the color to the boat. Shoot me an email and I can send some pictures. Gccornelius@gmail.com

Tony, I did the Lewmar Profish 1000. Could send pic's of the install if you'd like...they used to be here but might be gone. Bottom line, don't put on a pulpit; you'll just get charged for extra footage in the winter and you don't need it at all. Rick Ticket 85 SF Merc 454 MPI's Falmouth, MA

Here ya go Hadn't thought about that extra foot thing. Around here you are charged by the foot of the slip you throw the boat in, not the other way around.

That's very nice, Asher. My set up uses a simple bow roller that I bolted through the top of the old light/bow chock arrangement. Even with the longest one that I could find the anchor hits the very tip of the bow when the windlass pulls it to the stop. I'm going to fab out a stainless plate one of these days.....yeah right! I'm using the Profish 1000 as well & very happy with it.

Same setup as Joe, just a roller. Solid and simple, mine has been on for four or five years and I might have 2 hard to see dings on the bow. Rick Ticket 85 SF Merc 454 MPI's Falmouth, MA

Great idea Joe ! I still have the pine boards that I used as a template for mounting the roller that fits the 33 if anyone is interested. I made the actual boards out of starboard. Rick Ticket 85 SF Merc 454 MPI's Falmouth, MA
