Three Year Restoration almost complete

Post by Gccornelius »

My three year restoration is almost completed. Last major step is updating/restoring the dash and painting the hull sides. In restoring the dash, I am little confused on the switches underneath the gauges. I know the switches on the left are for the engines and have them labeled properly, but the switches on the right I am a little confused on. I think is goes Nav (3 position switch, up-running lights, middle-off, and down-anchor?), Instrument lights, Bilge Pump (Auto-up, middle-off, and down-man?), blower and horn. Does that sound correct? I am getting the aluminum plate laser printed and can only do this once for the switch labels. Thanks for the help everyone! George Cornelius 82' Bertram 35 "Osprey" 3208T Cats Annapolis, MD

George, that's exactly how they are labeled on the 33.

Wait a minute. You guys might have the Instrument Lights & Nav lights backwards. On that Starboard switch panel, I think the switch that is furthest left is the Instrument Light Switch (On/Off) , then the Navigation Lights (3 position, just like George said), then bilge pump, blower & horn. Been looking for a pic in my Pic true folder and haven't found it yet. So I'm not 100%, but pretty sure. Sorry if I'm wrong, but it might be worth checking out before ordering the label. Although I hesitate to correct Joe on anything, I'm fairly certain on this one.... Rick Ticket 85 SF Merc 454 MPI's Falmouth, MA

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Rick. George, the nav. switch and the aft bilge switch are the only 3-way switch's on that panel so wherever you have them located is how you should label them.

I found the pic at lunch time. From Left to Right it goes: Inst lights (On/Off), Nav lights (Up = Anchor/Mid = off, Down = Nav), AFT Bilge Pump (Up = Auto/ Mid = Off/ Down = Man), Blower, Horn. But remember....it's a 33. Will be happy to email pic if you're interested Rick Ticket 85 SF Merc 454 MPI's Falmouth, MA

Rick, Thanks for the offer on the picture. I went and confirmed them on mine- Nav Lights, Inst Lights, Bilge, Blower, and Horn. I ended up having the labels laser printed in 1/4" font. Hopefully the whole assembly (labels and painting the gauge panel) turns out good. I will post pictures later of how it turns out!
