Doug I looked at these a while back. Everything I read said the Cruz makes top grade stuff. However, this is NOT a flow meter. It will read the tank contents accurately & from that info it does it's calcs. It won't tell you that at 3200 rpm you are getting .74 mpg while at 3600 rpm you are getting .67 mpg. Remember it is still using your existing sender to get it's initial data. After multiple fill ups & calibrations which it remembers, it will be a lot more accurate than what we have now. Is it as easy as just removing the analog guage and plugging this one in? So it would read total fuel burned and not a per engine read out. Doug, The reason they read so badly after half tank, as in most boats, the V of the hull significantly reduces the volume of the tank on the lower part. Impossible to get linear reading from a non-linear tank. Just get flowscans and use the totalizer, you don't have to look at the GPH function.[:D] Frank Price

i still do not understand how this will give you any better accurate information than your analog fuel guage because it is still reading from the same sending unit...i think its a great gadget but i would not rely on it for calculating exactly how much fuel you actually have left....someone else can be the test bunny on this one to see if it works.... after owning a flowscan and a navman 3100 and 3200 flow meter, I found the navman more accurate and easier to install and a lot less $$. I think it is newer technology. http://www.navman.com/marine/products/fuel/index.html

You've got these on your boat now, and you like them? Gas or diesel engines? Sean, My 28 has Navman fuel meters connected to the chart plotter I really like them and have purchased same for the 33. Gunny

A friend of mine has the floscans and he swears that they give him .2 gallon accuracy when he fills up. If floscan indicates he burned 135.5 gallons, that's what he'll take he fills up. Dead nuts every time. It also gives him instant GPH out of each engine. So when he's got them at WOT, both at 3,000 RPM or both at idle, he can tell how each engine is running. Pretty valuable information. So I look at the Navman as a more intelligent gas gauge where the Floscan actually measures what's being consummed. Guess it goes back to....how much do you want to $pend ?

Doug, The Navman is available either as a standalone or it will feed any Navman instruement. The unit breaks out fuel flow to each engine a GPS or speedometer connected to it gives fuel use and economy comparisons. Gunny
