I'm dying...mentally.

Am I the only one without time to go play on the boat? Moorage paid, bottom scrubbed, zincs, LOF, licenses bought, full fuel tank, fishing gear ready, ocean good at times, and still can't getaway! Every week some other #$@!&! PITA issue arises and boating takes a backseat. Sick of it! Just venting...

I'm self employed and semiretired and I don't use my boat much. That's why I keep going back and forth on selling. For now I'm going to let it sit in the back yard in event that someone wants to go fishing. There is no way I can justify owning the Bertram with the amount that we use it. But I feel better when I look out at my dock seeing it. Just knowing that it's there to use if I want to. All my kids and their kids live in the area. It seems like there is a soccer, basketball, lacrosse or volleyball game every weekend. The grandkids prefer going out on the 24 Carolina Skiff tubing or hanging out on one of the islands. Of course they invite their friends to come along. I can testify to the fact that a 24 Carolina Skiff can carry a heavy load. Next weekend my wife and I are taking the Bertram to New Bern for the weekend.

Have not moved the boat since launching a week ago but my wife 'can't wait' to swim off the boat down in the Virgin Islands of Cape Cod. We have a short season up here but pretty intense. I actually hired a guy to compound and wax from the waterline to the fly bridge. Not quite to where Brian has his boat but give it another year. Now back to the Westerbroke... I've been doing a few short trips here & there. Buzz, we're heading to Ocracoke for our first "long" voyage here in NC. Heading there on July 22nd for the weekend. There's room at Anchorage Marina if you want to venture out there & join us.

I have been chasing some small stuff out on my mew boat and trying to clean her up after neglect for the last 6-10 years (previous to me owning her) Was about to launch the boat tonight. Started up the engines the other day, lost the Stb side trans cooler add filled my trans with water. Rushed to remove outboard exhaust manifold, remove and installed new cooler. Flushed trans out 5 times now.... all good. Last night final run of motors to ensure all is a go for today. Lost front seal on Stb trans. Dumped the trans fluid all in the bilge. canceled launch, will be removing trans and rebuilding/resealing this weekend and hoping for early next week launch.... or I can just take your boat for the weekend, Ill fuel it up when Im done!

My wife says a hole in the water into which you pour money. My dad said the happiest 2 days in the life of a boat owner the day you buy it and the day you sell it. Sometimes you just don't know what to do with them, I'm talking the family !!

My wife has the attitude no matter what size, age or type boat that I buy I'm going to spend money on it. So when I was thinking about selling the Bertram and buying 26' CC she was like why sell our boat just to buy another boat that I would spend money on to get it like I want. Just keep the Bertram and leave it in the back yard whether we used it or not. Other than a skiff she thinks boats are a waste of money although she will go out on the boat as long as we're not going fishing.

We actually have good weather this wknd, but can't get ANYONE to cover my shifts. Seems all my coworkers are working overtime already. I can't seem to win. Back to bitching I guess? Should've been a Parrothead on a barstool in Margaritaville instead of a responsible adult.

Tony. Are the rates still discounted on Nantucket next weekend?
