King fish

Had a great day fishing today. Caught 13 kingfish between 15 and 25 pounds, 10 Lane Snapper and a few grouper. We were fishing in the Gulf of Mexico about 17 miles off Naples, FL in 45 feet of water. To top off the day, on the way back in we found a crab boat that sunk last night. We heard from the Captain after contacting the Coast Guard, and he said the boat rolled over at 10:30 pm and he swam the 6 miles to shore....

Well the swimming back part of it wouldn't happen here. Good times.

17 miles to get to 45 feet, that always cracks me up about the Gulf. 6 mile swim, thats amazing.

I'd have a hard time with a 6 minute swim.

Would have been nice to keep the grouper instead of kings for dinner! (17 mile straight out of here puts you at 1000 foot of water)

I don't know if I could get to 1000ft in the Gulf of Mexico. When we run to Key West...you run 180 degrees for 105 miles I don't think we see water over 65 feet deep. Yes, I would have preferred the Grouper over the King, but it wasn't bad wrapped in bacon with BBQ sauce and cooked on the grill.
