anyone convert 35 to express

Post by Crabby »

I never use my flybridge and never even hooked up controls or gauges last repower. A buddy has a 36 trojan and took the fly brdge off and said it made a huge diff in side slip and rocking at slow speeds. how much weight would i be losing minus flybridge, radar arch, seats,, and has anyone done it to a 35 convertible? thanks, crabby

I have; but not ready to tackle such a project. One was for sale on YW some months back. Years ago I saw one that was burnt out that was converted. Loosing weight is not the objective of the conversion for me. Not having to climb the bridge is. My 35B has 3208Cats and that extra weight makes the boat a beast in bigger seas. When I step on the gunnel while boarding the boat does not rock. At an in water boat show I boarded the 35 Henriquez and it rocked big time. 35B's with 3208 Cats don't rock. Maybe I can send some pics of conversions I have on my computer and John D can post them for me. I never bothered to learn how on this site.

Hi charlie, thanks for the reply, if you could send the pics that would be great. I hate the ladder to and never use it anyway, would have taken it off, a little worried about how it is going to look. did you like or dislike the one you saw? thanks, Crabby
