Do any of you guys have have Sirius weather? If so do you like it and use it much? I'm thinking about adding it to my Furuno Navnet3. Buzz

Buzz, I don't have it, but I'm planning on buying the SR50 to hook up to my C120. Since the new C series have come out the price for the SR50 has dropped to $250. I asked the same thing on the hulltruth and most seem to like it.

Having been caught in (aka drove directly into) one of the nastiest storms I've ever seen - while off-shore - and come way closer than I'd like to being hit by lightening, and having heard that other guys avoided the entire mess with sattelite weather I'm going for it. While it was visible on radar I could not realy track movement and drove straight into it. Clearly would have been avoided if I had Sattleite.

I bought the SR50 today. I'll report back once I get it up and running.

You didn't win it in a raffle?? I thought this had some legs?

No. This was only $250. That's low enough under the radar to keep things on the up and up.

I installed the Sirius Weather this past weekend. Had it cut on yesterday and played around with it for a few minutes. Maybe this weekend I'll have time to really use it. We had a lot of the thunderstorms in the area yesterday. It appears to do a good job of showing the thunderstorms and the direction they are going. Buzz

Buzz, How much is the subscription for Sirius? How much time did you have to spend on the phone with them?

I had to wait about 10 minutes to talk to a person. Once I talked to someone it didn't take long. The cost ia about $30.00 a month. That's just for the weather not radio. Buzz

I haven't used XM weather so I can't compare Sirius to it. But so far I really like the Sirius. I haven't used the sea surface features so I really don't know how well it works. From what I've read it doesn't work very well. But the thunder storms, direction of storm , wind and lighting in the storm works really well. Being able to get weather data from the bouys and shore stations is very nice too. So far I have no regrets about buying the system. Buzz

Hey Guys, I've had the XM "Fisherman" package for two years now, and wouldn't go out with out either XM or Sirius weather. I can't speak for Sirius, but now that they are a merged company, I'd assume they would be similar. The radar and Nexrad is spot on for Fronts, T-Storms and Lighting Strikes. The tide and wave hights are very close, if not right on most of the time. I have the weather and radio package and pay 235.00 every 6 months. Highly recommend!

I just had the SR50 installed last week and activated my subscription on Sat. It took a while, but when the weather info started coming it was pretty cool. It will take some time to get used to it as the Raymarine interfaces really suck (not just for weather, but in my opinion for all their apps).
