I have lways heard 3200 I am thinking it probably differs a little with each engine carb type etc. My manual form bertram shows that 3000 is the optimal fuel usage speed.

Good Morning Guys: This is great info for my boat, as I am trying to max cruise knots while keeping the secondaries from dumping fuel. I am installing fuel manager from Lowrance to aid in this project and your answers are just what I was looking for to start. Thanks again for the info. Capt LuLu

When I had 454's I used to cruise at 18-19 knots @ 3200rpms. Floscan showed 30-32 gph at that speed. Personally I think that 18-19 knots is the best compromise for the 454's. The boat gives a much better ride at that speed than at 16-17 knots (i.e. bow comes down more and wake starts to get nice and flat).
