Bathroom blower ?????

Doug, You did such a good job on the genny blower, how about the bathroom blower? Where would that be? I took the mirrors our and the back panel to the medicine cabinet. I can see that the wiring runs behind the panel under where the stove used to be (I remodeled a few years ago and switched the sink and stove location). I can't believe it would be hid behind that panel between the panel and the hull. But, I also don't see it down in the bilge. Behind the fridge maybe? Thanks

I hope you don't mind, but I changed the name of this topic as I didn't like the sound of your original one. What year is your boat? On my 86, the fridge is on the starboard side and the head is on the port.

I have a 78. The lower helm is on the starboard side, the fridge is on the port side. Sorry about the name......I guess I should pay closer attention!

The head is also on the port. So, the head is on the port side between the V-Berth and the galley. Directly across from the head are the storage closets.

Thanks. Meanwhile I'll keep working on some other stuff. I've had my Bertram since 93. It has been a labor of love, but finally other than a total repower everything has been remodeled. I'm finally at the point that I'm fixing all of the little stuff I've never used (that doesn't work). By the end of next week, everything should be working as it was designed to do! That's a first for me. Little things like the bathroom blower has never been a priority, but since it's there it should be working. You've helped me a number of times with what can be some pretty stupid questions. I really appreciate your help and your patience in putting up with a novice mechanic such as myself. Thanks again

On my '90, I have a single closet door on Port side just forward of the head. My bathroom blower is located behind a back panel in the closet (screws down each side enable removal). The hose and wiring is then fed through the wall under the bathroom countertop with the exhaust hose going to a side hull louvered vent. The bathroom blower on my 1978 with lower starboard helm is located under the cabin floor in the engine room on the port side right against the outer wall just as high up as possible. It's right against the ceiling in the engine room. It's just even with the front of the port engine bolted to plywood on the bulkhead. It's a squirrelcage type blower with the inlet hose connected to the bathroom vent. This creates a vacuum which pulls air from the room quite effectively....... Grady

Grady, One of our 78's does not seem kosher. I had to replace that blower on mine. It was a Jabsco 4' flange mount blower. It is used for engine room ventilation. That is the only engine room blower I have. There is a blower in the head that I have to replace as it is a corroded mess. It is on top of the port side shelf to the rear of the port hole. It is controlled by a pull out switch in the front of the vanity. Al

Just get some more fiber in your diet and let the old bathroom blower rust away
