I was looking into some sound reduction foam and all I could come up with is
http://marineengineparts.com/shopsite_s ... ge204.html The "super quiet" is rated at 15-30 decibels reduction which is more than great. I'm not really doing it for the deafening noise of pcm 454's because it really isn't that bad. I'm simply doing it because I can and every little bit helps for the family. Has anyone had any experience with this stuff? I don't even know where to put it, I was just going to start with the hatch covers because the rest of under the floor is covered with wires and lights and such. Any ideas are greatly appreciated, thanks, Justin.

There's a company here in Mass called Sound Down. Unfortunately, I googled it and there website doesn't seem to be working. They may be out of business.

You mean their web site has gone "silent?" That foam must really work.

Justin, I used the Sounddown product last year when I repowered. I put it under the carpet because I had to remove the sound shielding from under the hatches to get the 8.1 s to clear. They were that tight, because I put them in the same position as the old ones. Some repowers move the engine back, but I wanted them in the same place for the weight. That said...this stuff is wonderful. I put it down the steps and forward. Under the cabinets too. Pricey, but worth it. They have a distributer in Ft. Lauderdale. I just went down and picked it up. They used to be in Marblehead but have moved to Salem Ma. off canal street behind the McDonalds.. Great people to deal with and if your local stop by, sometimes they have been known to sell "seconds" as long as you are not fussy about color as they make tons of different materials...headliner..engine room soundproof..etc etc.. Capt Gene, How did you configure for engine hatch access? did you cut out for the hatches or leave the carpet whole and roll it backt to access the hatches? Thanks,
