Just called my local dealer for the price of off-road for this Friday. Now I just got a load of #2 home heating oil at $2.65, my 2007 contract price. They want $3.84 for off road diesel. I guess that is a good price; but jeeezzz a buck 20 more then the stuff for heating. I guess they have been taking a loss on my home heating oil?

Charlie, Beginning of last Nov. I paid $2.89 a gal. for heating oil from the cheapest COD dealer around. After that I shut my oil burner off until two weeks ago. Burned wood all winter instead. I've heard of a lot of people paying up to $3.89 gal. for heating oil. Al

Looks like I'm going to be doing my boating in a Kayak this summer or at least baby a tank of fuel. It's even expensive to fill my Carolina skiff up. Buzz

I checked last week at my marina and they had it for $3.79/gal and that's my first stop when I get the boat in the water.

Hey George, I took my boat down to Lighthouse Point Wed. The fuel truck wouldn't even give me a quote. I paid almost $4.00 in Nov. So I got $4.09 with the $.05 hump day and a 10% Boat Usless discount. (maybe they are good for something). See if they can beat the truck on diesel. Gene Dugan Boca Raton, Fl. Thanks Gene. I have used a number of fuel services in the past. This time I used Land and Sea and they are under new ownership. It appears that they are less of a bargain than in prior years. My neighbor and I both fuel at the same time, meeting their 150 gal plus minimum. After quoting $3.85 + tax state they charged $3.95. With the 6% tax, the price came to $4.21 per gal so it sounds like you did better. I have tried to get the 10% discount for fuel at other marinas without much luck. When I return from the Bahamas I will call LHP for a price.

Diesel will be at least $5.00 dollars a gallon at the docks by Memorial Day, around here anyways. Oh well, glad my wife likes boating too. Bill 1989 33 FBC Cummins 330B > ~-------

I was at Disneyworld over the weekend. Bus transportation is taking over all other forms of movement among the various hotels. I read an article in one of their newsletters that says they are now running 60% old cooking oil with no adverse results in their busses. Of course, they run round the clock and it was 80 degrees there every day, so that cooking oil keeps moving through the fuel system. Diesel was $4.35 a gallon in the Orlando area

fuel on the south shore of long island is ranging from 4.30 to 4.99 .they might as well make it 5 bucks so it will make the math easier .
