SHE'S A KEEPER

Post by smanni »

Reese Manni was born on 4/16/08 6 lb 11 oz. Emergency C section almost gave daddy a frickin heart attack but everything is ok. Dr found out at the last second that she was a "frank breach" and she was BUTT down, feet tucked next to her head, and already engaged in the pelvis and dropping. This all happened after we were already in the hospital when the water broke, taking pitosin to speed up contractions, 4 cm dilated, and a last second ultrasound had us in the OR in 20 min. Everything turned out ok and she is the most beautiful little girl in the world. She's being fitted for a stainless steal chastity belt with 3 seperate locks in the morning.

Congratulations! But are you sure it was called a "frank" breach? I'm not sure I like my name being used for a potentially life threatening delivery problem...Maybe a BOB or a JOE breach or even a Forest Gump breach..

Congrats Sean!! Your chastity belt comments made me laugh... I think that having a daughter is the worst revenge that god, the universe, or whatever can wreak upon us men. Kudos to Mom for bringing another Bertram girl into the world (after all, she did all the work) "Island Time" 1987 Bertram 33 SF Melbourne, FL

Oh yeah... I didn't know that butt-first = "Frank," will have to add that to the vocabulary. Here is a joke for the occasion: A woman was in labor; she was having a really tough time dealing with all the pain. The doctor came to her husband and her and told them of a new experimental drug that allows the woman to transfer 25% of the pain to the father. The husband feels really bad for his wife, so he decides they will try it. The wife takes the pill and a few minutes later the husband says, "I don't feel a thing. You women are babies. Take another pill. I can handle this." So the wife takes another pill. Same thing happens. Her husband tells her to take another pill. Same thing. By now she has transferred 75% of her pain to her husband. She is feeling a little pain but her husband is still fine. He is convinced that women are complete wusses. He tells her, "Take another pill. This isn't hurting me at all. Let me take all the pain away." So she does. Now they are both feeling great. A few hours later, the wife gives birth to a beautiful baby boy. The next day they take their newborn son home... and there they find the mailman dead on the doorstep. I knew the "FRANKS" would love to hear that a specific breach was their namesake!! As I was typing - I thought it wouls be a race of Franks to comment on the breach. She's getting her own Kevin Bogan rod by this summer. MOM gave me the go ahead to take her on the boat this summer - just cant leave the dock until she's 18lbs (life jacket). Sean - I agree with your comment about revenge. My college roomates told me that if their is a God, I will have a daughter. I guess they think the "revenge" thing is real. When I told them its a girl - they all said they can keep believing in God.

Wait until a 15-16 year old punk stops by the house to pick her up for her first date. I'm sure you'll be thinking back to the first time you were in his shoes. Good luck.

Sean, Congrats on you're new crew member!!! Enjoy the best of each stage with the kids. One of my favorites was during the new born stage. Just before they could roll over you could put them in one place and not worry about them moving/getting in trouble. Br, John D "Lady D" Bertram 35 Pasadena MD

Congratulations! One of my four kids (3 girls) was born smack in the middle of summer (July 25), but we had her out at 5 weeks on Labor Day weekend to Block Island for an overnight. Enjoy! Brian '90 Bertram 33' FBC Yanmar 370's Never Say Never Guilford, CT (Homeport) Kinnelon, NJ (Home)
