Charlie on the board

Post by smanni »

Just checked the South Jersey Shark Tournament first day results and our own Charlie Haws is on the board. He is fishing on Tom Wards 38'Bertram (Rum Runner) and Charlie is listed as the angler who landed the shark - check it out and good luck Charlie. BTW - this tournament pays out over 250k total!

Not sure of the final standings, but hopefully the anglers about the Bertram won it. If they were in all the calcuttas, the heaviest macko should pay 112,000 - 150,000, plus all tha smaller categories. We fished it and didn't get much action. Friday was a beautiful day for shark fishing....2-3' seas, light breeze. We had about 5 run-offs. They just weren't swallowing the baits. Saturday was a little snotty...4-6, 15-20kts out of the north, but the old Bert did great....much better than the fishing. Ran about 19kts right into the head sea. I am SO glad I got this boat. Now on to the Tuna Tournament in July...Look out Charlie Tuna :-)
