Will Cat 3208 TA 375hp fit in a 1985 Sportfisherman? If not is it height or width? Thanks

From what I understand Tony is the after cooler is the problem. I here that is what stops the 375 hp from fitting. I thought you were selling, what happenned? Mike

There's a story on Pascoe's site about a guy putting in 425hp 3208's in a 33 SF.
http://yachtsurvey.com/boatreviews/bertram_33_sf.htm They'll probably fit if you want them to, but why not go with a pair of the factory re-manned Cummins 6BTA's? Lighter weight and more fuel efficient. The 315/330hp should allow you to cruise at 23-24 knots and you wouldn't even need to change your running gear. You can get them with a gear for about $18k a piece. If you look on boatdiesel, you may be able to find RTO's for even less. Why the change of heart on selling? I happened to see a pair of rebuilt low hour 3208's for sale for 20k w/ gears and was toying with the idea. I saw the article on Pascoe's site which made my think they would fit. I figured if I deduct the cost of a replacement fuel tank it might make sense. Maybe have to raise the boxes to clear the coolers? The boat is still for sale but no real intrest yet. Maybe in another month or so. If you know anyone who may be interested have them email me
