Congrats Capt Gene!!! Sounds like things went well and your numbers confirm my suspision that the new 8.1L motors are better than the 454's and close to diesel performance. Hope the prop adjustment works and the rest of the details fall in place for you. br, JohnD John D "Lady D" Bertram 35 Pasadena MD

Gene, The genset fuel problem was sporatic and I did not have the problem with the old onan and was only when I put the newer Kohler in that it started acting up. You probably will not have a fuel pick up but if you do you will know where to look.

Geez Al, I can send you a couple of the bills so you don't feel left out. I'll need to take somebody that can do CPR with me to pay tomorrow morning. Gene Dugan Boca Raton, Fl. "Nauti Marie" 1989 33 FBC

Boat is Home! Ran it from Ft. Lauderdale to Boca on Sat. It was a 3-4 chop. The washing machine kind, no real direction. I couldn't push due to the break in proceedure, but on the Avg. it ran 20.4 kts. @ 2900-3000 RPMs. I pulled the props off when I got home and took them back to Frank & Jimmy's Prop to get the cup taken out. They had 23x26 with full cup stamped on them. No wonder I couldn't get 4600 out of it. I told them I needed 500 more for WOT. No charge. The Crusader guy is coming up next Sat. and we'll sea trial it again. I will start refinishing the cabnets tonite, and hopefully get it back together in a couple weeks. Gene Dugan Boca Raton, Fl. Gene what was your burn rate for the whole trip?

Ed, Not a clue. When we had the computer hooked up to the Port engine, it showed 14 gph at 3400 RPM. Once everything is hooked up and I have a chance to take it someplace, I should get a good feel for fuel. If I get what Tim gets, I'll be happy. Should be close. Gene Dugan Boca Raton, Fl. Gene, 14gph is great....that's what I burn on average from tank to tank with my 454's, and that includes trolling time! Sounds like it was all worth while, good luck with 'em ! Rick Ticket 85 SF Falmouth, MA

Small update. I'm at 21 hrs into the break in. Been to Ft. Lauderdale 2 times. PB once. Diving once. Burned about 150 gal. Stb. transmission sounds like it is full of marbles after the PB trip. Crusadar coming tomorrow with new transmission. No questions asked. The SyncNcruz and the other plug ins have been on BO. Should be here tomorrow too??? Still need to get the cabinets back in and the carpeting done. But I am very happy with performance. What a great feeling to PASS other boats! Last Sunday I blew by 2 35 Berts in a 2-4 chop when a front was coming off S. Fl. Gene Dugan Boca Raton, Fl. "Nauti Marie" 1989 33 FBC

Make sure your Crusader guy flushes your tranny cooler lines. Any contamination in the cooler will end up back in your new tranny unless the cooler and both lines are flushed out.

I can't figure what is up with that transmission. Hasn't leaked. Oil is clean, no burnt smell. Just sounds like it is full of marbles. Got to be the clutches. I remember the old Velvet Drives would clatter sometimes at a real low RPM which was common. When I called Crusadar, they mumbeled something about sending it to Hurth to get it fixed. That lasted about 3 sec. when I said it was brand new, I didn't pay for a rebuilt transmission. So they sent me a new one. I'll be sitting there as it gets changed out, so I'll make sure it is all flushed. Gene Dugan Boca Raton, Fl. "Nauti Marie" 1989 33 FBC

Tim, I have a invite to bring the boat to the Keys for the summer. We're doing the Abacos on June 7, so I was going to try to get to the Keys aftet the 4th. But you never know. I've got everything swapped out. All the fancy plug in guages. And it all worked the 1st time! That SyncNcruz is pretty cool. I need to get one of the Instrument Pods to put the stuff in. I miss qued on the cabnets. I was about .25 in off , so I have to take a little out to get them in right. Carpet is supposed to be here today. New door is in the air from B.C. after getting repaired. I got about 2 weeks to get it together. Gene Dugan Boca Raton, Fl. "Nauti Marie" 1989 33 FBC
