I sure wish everyone would put the year and style of boat in the signature line so it would be easier to compare for reference.

By the way, I am not sure I would trust bills numbers as he does not know how to count the number of players of his Fantasy Football Team

I am not sure how and where everyone else measured but I measured mine just forward of the generator and the inside of the stringers was 33" and the height was 5" at the inside edge.I couldnt tell you if the dimensions would be the same on the tank side of the bulkhead.I would guess the width would not change but the height could change a little due to slope. So i am assuming that ricks was measured 34" on center which would match mine at 33" inside and the same height. And as you can see from my signature I have an 81FBC.....hehehehe

Al, I just read your post and i see that you measured it just off center . Does that mean the center of the tank? Those of us that dont have our soles up and tanks out will not get the same measurement.

Tim, I meant the two stringers on each side of the center. Just checked one of my sketches. They were 39 1/4" apart at the base of the tank/engine bulkhead. I think Rick's inside stringer measurement was 36" & 5 1/2" hi. Al 1978 33 FBC NITES OFF

Tank update: I got the last of the gas out of the tank today. I then cut the top of the tank off, much to my surprise, the baffles are aluminum riveted to the fg tank. The gelcoat inside the tank has some blistering/degradation even though the tank has never seen ethanol as far as I know. I'm going to leave the fg tank in place with the new aluminum .25" tank set inside. I'm doing this because I like the idea of secondary containment just in case( I'll fit some drains in the fg tank bottom to allow for ventilation/drainage etc.)I'm only losing a few gallons and there's plenty of room for more tankage if needed later. Rich, I think you will find that duplicating those pockets molded in, in the fwd corners, will be an expensive proposition in metal. If you're tank is like mine, you also have the compound angle at the bottom. I have a feeling you could be looking at a fair amount of cash & a fair drop in tankage by having a tank made to fit inside the old tank. I hope I'm wrong. Al 1978 33 FBC NITES OFF
