Hi Keith I was thinking about replacing my 315 gal tank with a new fiberglass tank. I had a conversation last week with Nelson at glass-tech.com, Ph: 305-633-6491 They made parts for original Bertram production. I got a swim platform from them 2 seasons ago & was very satisfied. He said that they would be prodcing fiberglass tanks for 33's in the near future. He said to call back in a month. What is your timetable for replacement? I'll keep you posted. Gerard, that's great info. I'm looking to get this done before Feb. I will be going back in the water end of March. I will call him and ask more details. Thanks for the heads up.

Frank, Keith or anyone else considering the 315 gal tanks: be aware that with the different height & spacing of the stringers, FBC & SF 315 gal. tanks are probably NOT interchangeable. Al 1978 33 FBC NITES OFF

Good point Al. It is worth checking to see what differences there are between the different boats, even with the same size tanks. Keith, when you get your tank out, can you take pics and measurements? It would be nice to have a data base of what is what.

Al, Don't forget that you're comparing a 78 FBC with an 85 SF. Do you know for a fact that the stringers are different on an 85 FBC? I can't imagine how they could be that much different. Well guys, somebody with a newer boat, measure your stringers. On NITES OFF the two stringers just off center are 40" apart & 7" hi. Rick's TICKET has them 34" apart & 5" hi. Al 1978 33 FBC NITES OFF

Keith, where is the work being done & are you doing it? Once the tabbing is cut, it should just take a "little persuasion" to pop the tank free from the polyester Bondo like putty that Bertram seated the tanks into. Are you going with the glass tank? Al 1978 33 FBC NITES OFF

The Marina is pulling it. The tank is then being shipped to FL to glass-tech to be molded and built out of fiberglass

Keith, Would it be possible for you to post pictrures of the old and new tank as well as your empty bilge. It would be great to compare yours with Al's and Rick's. I am assuming that Glass-Tech will keep the mold and offer it to any others that match it.
