I was t Pirates Cove several years ago. Bring a dink, there are lots of little spoil islands to the north to party at. They have a restaruant & pool. Pretty quiet back there. It is also close to a place called Peck's Lake, which is to the South on a strip of beach between the ICW & beach. Only accessable by boat. Great spot for a day raftup. Gene Dugan

BERTRAM PRIDE '06 Space is limited and we need to block out rooms fast, but until be have a count of members whom are planning to attend we cannot do it. We want to insure that all the 33's members who wish to attend have a room before opening this to all Bertram owners. This is going to be an exciting event, at the Workshop Lunch, we have a speaker with 23 years of high-end fiberglass work whom will discuss how to repair and take care of your fiberglass, along with what questions to ask before you have fiberglass work done and the answers you are looking for. Plus an open Q & A. We also hope to have some people from Bertram there and perhaps someone on electronics and engines too. There is a fishing contest in the plans, followed by a poolside pig roast. Plus crab races, drinking and socializing, and Sunday night a dinner dance, and did I mention drinking? So.... If everyone one who thinks they are going to attend has signed up, then we will have to open this up to all Bertram owners starting Monday, in order to get the number of people needed for the discounts and sponsors for this event. If you have not yet indicated your interest in attending, please do so today. We need to have an indication of the number of people who think they may attend. Rooms are limited and we need to block off a group of rooms to insure those planning to attend will have rooms available to them. I agree with Ed! The lead time to block off rooms and slips seems like it is far off but this resort fills up fast and are willing to give us a discount if we block off the rooms and slips now. Also the Hooters girls need to be booked in advance as we are right in the middle of their chicken plucking season!

Ed & Tim, I signed up and CAN"T WAIT. I already started polishing and waxing. I did not ask for a room at first, but asked for one later when another 2 people wanted to come along.... does someone need a credit card to confirm both the slip and the room, or do you yet know how that is to work? I also thought it might be fun for some of us to run up to Cabbage Key for a lunch or something during the event....just a thought. It would be fun to get some photos of all those 33s running. Tim, just thinking of you ya know. [8D]

Maybe i will get in the helicopter for the picture! I love cabbage key and that is not a bad idea if the group stays small. I will defer to Ed on the visa card but i think we will probably wait to see the final tally and confirm with Tween Waters than we will take everyones money. Keep the wax flowing!

Yes, we need to wait until we have the finial estimate for attendees. Then we have a travel management that will handle the thing for us, from hotels, airfare and car rentals at discounted rate for us as group. We are trying to make this a great and fun event without denting the wallet too deep. In the coming weeks we will have more information, but we just need to get a count of people who think they will be attending.
