I was told that to take off the barrier cost you would have to sand blast.Sandblasting would also take off some of the gellcoat then barrier coating would be needed. The water in the bilge has been there since I pulled the boat in early november.Do not know where it is comming from.I do not use the shower or hw heater

Obviously if your boat is not in the water the water is not getting in through any of the usual spots like rudders,shafts, ac condensation etc.so in my oppinion there are only 2 ways to get water in there , rain water or your water tank has a leak.What other possibillities could there be?

COASTAL SODA BLASTING - new soda blaster in NJ just quoted me 30/ft - not bad 990 for the whole boat. He is new and trying to get growing. He has references from boat owners and Marinas. Did any of you guys that had this done notice an increase in Fuel economy or speed?

Sean, Back in 2003 I used peel-away to strip the bottom. When I was done, the hull was shinning like it just popped out of the mold. I didn't really notice any performance or economy differences, but then again the bottom was not really in bad shape before I decided to strip. I guess it all depends on the condition of the bottom prior to stripping. I don't think they have a website yet - The only way I found them is they are a BASSBARN sponsor. The phone number is 856-889-4412, or 609-413-4436. If I do this it will be now since this is the cheapest I have found the soda blasting.
