Hello All, Read the posts about the Florida gathering and thought I'd join in. I have been a 33 Sportfish (1981) owner since April of 2005. Run Charters out of Dunedin Fl. (North of Clearwater Beach). Just want to say hello and would be interested in joining in if you put something together. Check out my website at

Tim, I'm going to be in Bonita Springs at the Hyatt for a National Sales Meeting from Sunday afternoon (1/22) thru Thursday afternoon (1/26). I just realized how close you are in Naples. I've got a pretty full agenda for the week, but it would have been nice to stop over and check out your boat with the new power. If some time becomes available, I'll drop you a line to see if you're around. Brian '90 Bertram 33' FBC Never Say Never Westbrook, CT (Homeport) Kinnelon, NJ (Home)

Hi Thanks for the welcome. I am playing Dad at the present time but just checked my E mail and the forum. I have a 9 year old daughter who is the best first mate one could ask for. My Princess/Pirate. When I have more time I will tell my story of The Sea Rose. After you read it you will know I am a dedicated 33er. As far as diving goes I used to run trips and may have to again to stay in business. 8 months of Red Tide, Numerous Hurricanes and Grouper restrictions have made it tough on the Fishing end. For those who don't know, SCUBA stands for: Some Come Up Barely Alive. Have a great day and I will post again soon. Capt. Dan

I had to make plans for Summer yesterday. Our group got kind of split in half. The haves and have nots. The haves, have boats 48 and up, don't have to work and are going to the Exumas for a month and sit at the dock. The have nots (me) are going to go to Bimini for fishing , diving and use their boats every day. Looking at a WEd to Wed, probably June 14. Anybody want to go let me know. Gene Dugan

Tim, That would be great...I'll fill you in when we start finalizing. I know we'll do Big Game. We got a special rate last year. Blue Water is fine , but Big Game has the Dive shop (air) and the security is better for kids to wander a bit on their own. And the Admiral's all perfer it, I guess is the main reason. Also we perfer mid weeks, because usually you are the only ones there. Weekends are a zoo. Gene Dugan

Hello Guys, I would be interested in getting in on the Florida gathering. I am in Punta Gorda, which is about a 2 hour run from Ft. Meyers, or about 4 hours from Tampa. I have always wanted to take a trip across the Okeechobee Waterway, so an East Coast location would be attractive. Not being familiar with the marinas on either coast, I won't be much help in selecting an exact location. Bob Buell Lexsea '87 SF33

OK, so one thing seems to be coming into focus - a location somewhere along or close to the Okeechobee Waterway. Can we start focusing on locations there? I'd like to stick to one location so that folks flying or driving in don't have to worry about booking two hotels. Also, the waterway looks to be around 100 miles from Miami depending where you are along it, which would make a Bertram Factory trip at least a possibility. Clewiston Inn west side of Lake Okeechobee. Living in Fl for over 30 yrs. I have never crossed the waterway. I always wanted to do that, but always opt out for a diving or fishing trip. Gene Dugan
