That looks like a great setup, thank you very much for that information. I wonder about the size of the wires needed to run to it though. 210 Amp startup and 75 Amp working draw is HUGE. I'm sure there's no hope of re-using any existing wiring with those loads. I currently have a Goode windlass that is anything but, mostly a deck ornament, but thought I might be able to re-use at least the main power wires. I'd rather re-wire and have what i want though. What are the current draws on the Maxwell 800 you bought, and what were their wire size recommendations for the ~25-30 foot run? Does the main power line have to go up to the bridge, to the switch, and then back down to the windlass- or is there a solenoid wire? Sean, I don't remember the power spec on my SL 900 FF, but would guess that it is not much different. Per the recommendation of SL I ran one gauge to the solenoid in the anchor well. Ran 14/3 from the bridge to the solenoid. The total round trip on the big stuff was about 70'. Al 1978 33 FBC NITES OFF
