I found this info on that virus, maybe some help: http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/forums/index ... forumid=20 Also did you check your ie explorer's list of "trusted sites" to be sure there isn't something listed there that shouldn't be? I know just enough about this stuff to be dangerous, so don't get the impression that I know what I'm talking about "Island Time" 1987 Bertram 33 SF Melbourne, FL

I am really honing in on it now. There is a security hole in Snitz Forums that they used to get through. I fixed that and am now just trying to remove the last remnants of the problem. Almost there...

OK, I think I have it now. See if things seem normal now.

Sean, My home PC which has Norton AV. On Monday I got a pop-up from Norton saying that a virus was detected and that Norton could neither stop it nor delete it. I spent an hour on the phone with Norton on Monday night. It cost me $100. Afterwards the tech hoped that I would provide favorable feedback. I didn't. My main gripe is that I had to pay Norton extra cash for something I think their software should have caught up front. Dave, Nice job saving the forum. That would've really sucked if it had been lost.

Doug, for future reference, PCTools both caught it and deleted it on my machine with no problem. It costs $39, works great, and is licensed to be installed on 3 different machines.

It looks like the latest member (ReckingB) is another bogus pretender/a$$hole.

My main gripe is that I had to pay Norton extra cash for something I think their software should have caught up front. I agree, that would make me angry too.... I'd write them a nice well-worded complaint. I made sure my virus definitions were up to date, and ran a full scan on my (suspect) work computer. Came through clean. So either NAV can't find it or I don't have it, not sure which to believe. I had thought NAV was the best, was exactly why I bought their stuff "Island Time" 1987 Bertram 33 SF Melbourne, FL

About a week ago I had something that made my computer act strange.. it wouldn't let anything load past the Windows Desktop. Ran Norton Antivirus and a couple of other programs I use to stop popups and other stuff, and everything cleared up. Sorry I did not pay attention to what these programs found. Well I fixed my particular IE Explorer issue. Not sure what made me think to try this, but I un-installed the google toolbar that I had picked up maybe 6 months ago. Bingo, the problem went away. The google toolbar worked fine for some time... not sure what suddenly made it cause trouble. Probably a Microsoft Update designed to make it act screwy. At work I'm running Win 2000 Pro, and so am stuck with IE version 6.whatever, and that may be a part of the problem. I typically don't upgrade anything until I am forced to. If it works... Anyway, it appears my particular problem had nothing to do with the virus on the site "Island Time" 1987 Bertram 33 SF Melbourne, FL

I'm getting all your correspondence. Anything new on the fuel/tank issue? I went through '07 without a problem and am about to splash. We plan shorter trips and probably one hit to the Vinyard. T
