Skyking, $10K seems a little high. I just had mine done and I think it was around $6K (no final bill yet) for a new tank and install. The bumped up the size a little bit, but I won't know total capacity until I get boat back in a week or two. Mike C

Hi Guys, I'm facing the same issue? What are the alternaitves: Is anybody spraying or refabing the inside of the tanks with compliant material? It just seems uncle Sam is putting us over the barrel no pun intended. thanks, Capt. Sean Celtic Pride 33 FBC

Sean, Welcome aboard. Nice looking boat. Have you run ethanol yet? I also have an 86 FBC that I re-powered from Mercs to rto Cummins this past winter: http://www.bertram33.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=896 Don't necessarily believe that you have to replace the tank. Read through this thread before you decide: http://www.bertram33.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=448 Regards, Doug L. 1986 33 Bertram FBC Queen Elizabeth Marblehead, MA

Hi Doug , Thanks I'm a proud 33 owner but additons to my family and not being able to run her as much as I should has lead me to put her on the market. Congrats on you repower your range must be great, do you go offshore much? I should be in the Montaulk Basin Tounry on (6/27 - 7/1 ) if you happen to be out there look me up I'll have cold beer. Sean, Thanks. I use the boat to cruise, not fish. Not sure yet what the range will be, but I'm guessing I'll be getting right around 1 nautical mile per gallon at 21-23 knots as opposed to .67 nautical mile per gallon at 18-19 knots with the old gassers. Hey All...well it looks like I will be changing the fuel tank and was wondering if you guys might be able to answer a few question ?? 1.What is the gallonage of my fuel tank ??? can't see it written anywhere on the tank.....1982 FBC w/350hp/454cid crusaders. 2.does Hightide (or anyone) make a replacement FG ethanol resistant tank thatwill match the old tank 3. if not, what should the replacement tank be constructed from (Aluminum SS FG???) 4.Has anyone actually done an 80 thru 85 FBC gas tank. As always thanks for all the help and support. Have a great summer !!! Ken AIM: skyking4ever + 3 hrs. EST

Ken, To answer some of your questions: 1. On the Bertram spec sheet I have from 1984 the tankage is listed at 310 gallons. That being said, mine states on the tank that it is 315 gallons. 2. As far as I know High Tide has not yet made a FG tank. 3. So far, I think only Al and Rick from this site have replaced their tanks. Both used Stainless: http://www.bertram33.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=883 I'm curious as to why you think you need to change the tank?
