Tim, Great news. With any luck you'll have them in and running by the time I get down there in March. The wife and I are flying in to Miami on the 7th and driving down to Islamorada to spend a few days at the Cheeca Resort Lodge. We check out on Friday the 11th to visit some friends in Naples and to see the Sox play in Ft. Myers on Sat the 12th. I'd sure love to see those babies installed and running. Tim, Cool. I'm sure you will come up with a bunch of things that you may not know about. Hopefully nothing that is big $. Keep us all informed...this is going to be a great experence for us too. Keep a list...take pictures! My Niece is working as a actress at the Naples Dinner Theater. I plan on coming over and watch a show in a couple of weeks. I would really like to take a look! E.W. Dugan

wow,i get new engines and all of a sudden i got alot of new friends....just kidding. Doug, how many days will you be in Naples? for sure come by and see them if we plan it right we can go for a ride if all goes right the boat should be ready in 2 weeks .I am pulling the boat monday or tuesday at that time the installer will figure out what all needs to be done.right now his best guess is that in order for the engines to fit it will probably mean a combo of moving the engines back a couple inches and adding longer shafts. of course my preference cost wise is to just move the engines back and reuse the shafts but i dont think that will happen due to the fact that i think the engines will sit too low.If i have to do new shafts i would like to up size to 1 1/2" if they will fit my struts.and if i go through all that i will probably put in dripless packings. Tim, I will be in Naples on Fri (11th), Sat (12th), and Sun (13th). We have the Sox game in Fort Myers at 1:05 on Sat afternoon. Maybe we can hook up on Sun? Sounds like everything is finally coming together. Good luck! Regards, Doug L. 1986 33 Bertram FBC Queen Elizabeth

if anyone has access to measure the space between the hull and the end of the shaft at the center of the shaft behind the prop that would be helpful especially you guys swinging bigger props .mine is 14.75" the other measurement is the distance between the hull and prop tips which is supposed to be 15 percent or about 3.5" the formula i read translates that into a maximum of a 21-22" prop.i am curiuos if the set ups are different from boat to boat because i know some of you are running 23-24" props. Tim, I just measured my shafts. Of course, mine being an'87, it has the 23 inch props and the inch and a half shafts . The distance from the end of the shaft to the closest part of the hull bottom is 14&1/4 inches, which leaves only about 2&1/4 inches from the tip of the blade to the closest part of the hull. Kinda close but it seems to work OK. I hope this helps. Frank Price
