Repowering

I recently spoke with several repower centers and was told that in 2007 all new engines must be "Commonrail" for lower emissions and better fuel economy. Common rail technology has been out for some time.....for example Volvo's new D series engines are common rail.

Buzz.. I am sure others here know more than I do about this subject, but I believe that Cummins remans have almost the same warranty as their new engines. I believe it was on the Boatdiesel or Bertram31 forum that I read the main reason Cummins is selling 6B remans is that by selling "used" engines they can avoid having to follow the new environmental/pollution regs, which I believe apply only to new engines being installed.
