Tim, That would be nice but "soon" is a relative term and in this case soon is when the wells run dry.The sad facts are that if we cut our dependence on foreign oil way down by using corn or soybeans to mix with the oil,(which is unlikely) the only thing that would be different would be that our fuel costs would be a lot higher. The violence over there wouldn't change . They want us all to die, and it's not because we buy their oil. This terrorism and the "war on terror" is giving them a voice . I'm not sure I understand what it is they are saying but I'm pretty sure I don't like it.

"Pretty sure i dont like it" is an understatement that i am sure most of us feel. You are right that it goes way beyond selling or buying a gallon of fuel no matter how it is made or where. The cartoon episode is proof of that! Sometimes i think it is easier to stay in your own little world,i guess that is why we boat!

quote:Originally posted by photo finish The cartoon episode is proof of that! And what a load of bullsh** this enitre cartoon episode is by the way. What a bunch of hypocrites. They burn our flag (or any other nation's flag) every chance they get, and then get all bent out of shape over a stupid drawing that wasn't even done in jest! Now, I'm not one of those people that believe you shouldn't burn the flag. I support your right to express your beliefs (no matter how inane they may be). But these people are talking out of both sides of their mouths. Frank is right. These assh*les are just looking for any reason to justify their cause. I'll bet the Israeli's aren't as bummed out about Hamas as people would think. At least their enemies have a face now: "There you are! No more hiding in a crowd!" That area of the world has all of the oil the free world will ever need and 90% of their populations are dirt poor. Compare that to Japan, which had virtually zero natural resources yet is one of the world's leading economic powers. Sorry, I'll step down off of my soap box now before the Ayatollah decides to come after this infidel. They are saying: "we're a bunch of suicidal morons that could care less about anyone else in our country that might have actually learned to use their brain, so come over here and mow us all down with bombs and machine guns as fast as you can, before we find some new way to get to you." That's what they're saying. Didn't know I spoke arabic, did you? Sean Burlingham "Island Time" 1987 Bertram 33 SF Melbourne, FL SBurlingham@cfl.rr.com

Dave, The tank is just unfinished fiberglass. When you lift the small hatch over the fuel tank, what you see outside of the fittings is what you'll see across the entire tank. I have a pic, but it was with a 1 mega pixel camera, so it's not that good but I'll post it if you think it would help. Rick Ticket 85 SF Falmouth, MA

I stand corrected on one item. It appears as though the cartoons were intended in jest (MSN.com has a link to them). It still doesn't change my mind though. Regards, Doug L. 1986 33 Bertram FBC Queen Elizabeth Marblehead, MA

That's bad news Al, guess it doesn't surprise me. What we should strive for here is a way of testing the fuel (or better, the tank!) to see if our tanks are degrading. I also wonder if there's something you can add to the fuel that minimizes or inhibits the effect ? Don't tell me.......Marvel Mystery Oil ! Rick Ticket 85 SF Falmouth, MA

Just another thought that dawned on me. Depending on how this turns out, this will adversely effect the resale value of the gas boats. Unbelievable[B)][8][:(][:0][:(!][xx(][|)][V][?]!
