Thanks for your help and opinions! If anybody has any leads on boats they know personally, or any further advice I would love to hear from you. I think I'm going to skip this boat and keep looking.

John, Are you looking for FBC's rather than SF's? If so, there were a few changes over the years that may help you narrow your search. 1. Starting in 1980, Bertram added a second stateroom (to starboard) on the FBC's. 2. In 1982 they gave the FBC's a tournament style helm like the SF's (i.e the controls are further aft on the bridge with bench seating in front). 3. In 1988 they re-designed the sides of the flybridge, eliminated the small window on the starboard side of the salon's aft bulkhead, and moved the galley sink to the forward part of the salon facing the windshield on the starboard side. 4. The last major change came in 1990 when they added a separate stall shower by removing half of the hanging locker from the forward stateroom (i.e. v-berth). If I were looking all over again, I'd be looking for a 1990 or newer FBC with diesels. They are few and far between. As you have also stated you would be interested in a 35 or a 38, what is your price range? Regards, Doug L. 1986 33 Bertram FBC Queen Elizabeth Marblehead, MA

I have settled on a post 1980 boat....I need the second cabin with the bunks. I would also like diesels, but I'm willing to suffer with gas in a 33 for a season or two. Yes I'm looking for a convertible. My price comfort level is about $100,000.
