Post by Rick »

Does anyone know a good spot to try Wolf Fishing off of Salem/Marblehead ? I want to try it on my way to meet up with Doug et al, but have never been. I know you fish deep but with what ? And where ? Thanks ! Rick Ticket 85 SF Falmouth, MA

Rick, The only wolf fish I'vew ever caught were while we were catching cod about 5 miles out. They're deep and although I know they eat lobsters and crabs, we caught them on sea clams. Mean mean bastards. Frank Price

rick, Look on your chart. A few miles straight out from Magnolia/Gloucester (just SW of Gloucester harbor entrance) are Saturday Night Ledge & Burnham Rocks. Use clams on the drop offs. If you don't get a wolffish, you should be able to get some cod or Haddock. Good Luck Al 1978 33 FBC NITES OFF

I never heard a Wolffish before, so I looked it up, interesting, seems like it would taste like Sheephead's we have down here. Ah, a sheep in wolf scales![:D] www.afprotein.com/wolf.htm 1979 Bertram 33' FBC ALEXANDRA Port Richey, Florida
