1977 FBC hydraulic steering pump

Post by blev2577 »

Looking for some help. At the end of last season there was hydraulic fluid on the fly bridge floor. Checked the pump. Two of the three lines appear to be leaking where they enter the pump. Does anyone know the make/model for a replacement pump. Second question, I’d like a schematic of the steering system or a solid explanation. In the past the marina has maintained steering, I’d like to start doing it myself.

Thanks in advance.

Where have you been the last 15 years? I am 95% positive that you have a Hynautic H50 helm. I believe Hynautic was taken over by Seastar. Many places will rebuild the H50 or you can buy a kit & do it yourself. Just be careful you don't drop the ball bearings everywhere.

Thank you for the information. We’re going to try and rebuild the unit if possible. As to where I’ve been, I’ve been restoring annd enjoying the 33 for a long time with no real major headaches.
