Installing our new Raritan toilet

Post by TG² »

Our new Raritan Elegance toilet showed up today and we're reading through the installation instructions. Anyone have any suggestions for the waste tank overboard discharge pump requirements? Inside hose diameter? Pump size requirements?
Thanks!

You’re going to love that toilet, I’ve had mine for 3 years and it’s been flawless. Sorry, I can’t help with your pump requirements but I think most pump from the top of the tank so bigger is probably better in this application.

Hi Kathy, The waste discharge hose & pump should be 1 1/2". This is pretty standard. Make sure that you use the good "Trident" 102 hose and silicone & double clamp everything. Wait a day before testing for leaks. I have the same set-up and love it as well. Should have gotten rid of the old clunker Groco long ago!

Our 33SF came with a camping toilet and some old Lectrasan pieces in the bilge.... So we're starting from scratch... Thank you for your help!

You're off to a great start ! I'm interested to see where you put the holding tank. Between the shower plumbing and toilet hoses, it didn't look practical for me to put a tank directly under the head. I was considering the next compartment forward on the port side for the holding tank. Then I ran out of time and decided to stick with the Lectrasan.

We're still figuring out the final locations. Al gave us the idea to make a model tank to see how things are REALLY going to fit in there, and it has already saved us a few times from our "good" ideas.

Just a quick update. We installed the new toilet, and finished wiring it yesterday. Bertram never fails to impress me with their craftsmanship quality. Little things like wires, and terminal rails already being labeled is such a HUGE time saver. It easily saved us a days work of running wires and loosing wire bundles. We're ordering the holding tank and lines today. One project almost done!

Congratulations! Isn't it great to be installing new stuff instead of still ripping out old.
