1988 FBC

Looking at an'88 FBC with 454 Mercs. Coming out of a 31' Chris Craft Commander, 1969. Not familiar with areas of the Bert that may be cored. Hull sides?, decks? Coring wasn't an issue with the Commander. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hull sides are solid glass, not usually any issues with that. The decks are balsa cored and can have some issues. The cockpit is also balsa cored and usually has some issues but not too hard to fix since it can be removed fairly easily. Very strong , solid boats, so a decent surveyor should be able to find any issues. It comes down to how much the previous owner stayed up on it. Most of the usual stuff would come up by now and may have been addressed, you never know.

Looked at a 35 Convertible this morning, nice. The cockpit floor and hatches were replaced with a fiberglass kit that is apparently available. nice job. Fresh motors, very well maintained.
