please I'm from france so sorry for my english I want to buy a 33 bertram and I think there is a problem the engines is cat 3208 260 hp and it run at 2000rpm and 15knots I think it's a problem with the propellers there is no smoke and the nose of the engine is good is it possible that somebody tell me the size of the propellers thank you so much best regards Chris

Chris Le 33 bertram avec les cat 260 cv 3208, peut faire 20 21 noeuds à 2400t régime de croisière. A fond 2800 2900t, il peut faire 25 27 noeuds. Ceci avec les hélices d' origine qui donne à priori les meilleurs résultats 3 pales diametre 20, pas de 22 et un cup d' 1/2 Attention ceci à la mise à l' eau après l'antifouling, et bateau pas trop chargé Une coque sale et surtout des hélices sales ou cabossées font perdre beaucoup 400t et 5 noeuds GB

Chris What RPM do the engines reach at wide open throttle? They should reach 2800+RPM and the cruising RPM should be around 2300-2400 RPM which should get you around 18-19knts I believe. If they don't reach 2800rpm at WOT with a full load the props are wrong or there is something else wrong with the engines. If you do a search on the site you will find lots of threads about Cat 3208's and speed etc. I'm sure one of the other guys who has the same engines will chime in.

Dang GB. I haven't taken French for about 25 years, but I could still piece together a lot of what you said.
