I know this is one of those topics you guys say has been talked to before but what are your product recommendations for the teak trim? There is not a lot of wood but what there is needs attention badly. I don't mind the work I just don't want to use something that won't last.

Hey Keith, hope the project is still going well. I was down at the boat today and snapped a couple pics of the 33 sf down the dock from me with the SSI ice chest on the swim platform for the fish box. If you have a fighting chair in the cockpit this isn't an absolutely horrible way to go. And you've already got the extra space back on the platform for it anyway. Hello Asher, The project is going very well the only big job left is to install the raw water pumps I ordered incorrect parts so the new correct parts should be in by Tuesday after the holiday weekend. I have to finish the install on the dash of the new Simrad this Sunday and install the new throttle cables and she will be set in the water on Wednesday is the schedule as we know it right now. The boat needs to sit 2 days to allow for the hull to take shape in the water then do the final alignment of the prop shafts. "then" we can start the engines and see what else she needs. The generator needs to be started and given the once or twice over and then we get a ride. So the possibility of her in CC is getting very close. If you go in your cabin lift the deck lid and look ahead of your engine do you have 2 18x18 squares of plywood with a large bolt sticking out of the top of the wood? I do they are on the port side with what appears to be nothing attached to them. They appear to be original parts as they match the Fiberglass and fastening in the bilge but have no visual purpose. I looked with a light under them and see no parts under the boards. I saw the pics of a few of your catching trips is that a production platform or drilling? Great pic did you hand a phone off to a neighbor boat? It's too far for a selfie stick!

No clue about the bolts, but the pics came from a buddy that happened to be fishing out there as well. He managed to snap a few pics of us and we returned the favor. As to what type of platform it is, I've always heard of it referred to as a pumping station. So I guess that would make it a production platform?

I believe the bolts are where they carried a spare set of props. The markings on the board look right. I have the hull all back to being watertight so with a few things left it looks like she goes in the water next weekend. The dash is done so I have the gauges to install for turbo boost and temp and I have that part complete. I removed the synchronizer and installed new throttle cables. I have been cleaning and found a little soft wood but only in places it's easy to replace. The pieces behind the side panels in the cockpit that are the backing boards you screw into. And the tackle boxes in the gunwale are in need of rebuild. The engines have new hoses, turbos, belts idlers and tensioners, serviced the inter coolers, cleaned the heat exchangers, raw water pumps, exhaust elbows, and other stuff I'm not remembering right now. I feel confident she gets to take us out and back without needing to sweat the big stuff now. There will always be work to do and maintenance work to do but we have a good start on it all. I have more pictures to put up so I'll start that soon. Oh this weekend we put the new name on the stern and it felt sweet, Helen P is my dads Mom
