First trip of the year

Post by Capn Tony »

Got out on Nantuket Sound last weekend for some squid, filled the cooler in a couple of hours; best of all she ran great. Had 5 guys on board each 200lbs or more, full water, fuel, gear. The bottom is dirty the diver has not been able to clean the hull yet due to lack of visibility. I cruised at 22knots 2300rpms with all vitals and electronics stable. Hope this is an omen of the season to come. Wishing all a happy, safe and trouble free season. Thanks Capn' T 33'Bert SF 3116 Cats Hyannis MA.

Capt Tony What do you cruise at with boat loaded to fish with the 3116's and what is your fuel burn? I need to stop down and check out your boat. Thanks Jon

Jon, The engines are rated 2800 rpms. I cruise at 2300 to 2400 getting 22kts to 23kts. I'll hit 24kts with the right conditions; burning around 21 gallons an hr. Where are you located? Shoot down any time I am at the Anchor In at the end of South St in Hyannis. My email is: Thebarnacle@comcast.net get touch I'll send you my phone number.
