I'm looking at a 1978 33 Conv. with gas power. The boat looks good however are their any specific points in the boat that I should be concerned about. The engines have 1200 hrs, appear to run fine. The boat has spent it's life in the Great Lakes area. I would like to ask the forum members to share their first hand knowledge of this boat with me.

Some places to check are soft spots around the bridge ladder and the aft bulkhead. Also check the transmission area around the shaft seals, I had sea water spraying on the connections and now have to replace them due to corrosion. Just a couple things that got recommend to me when I was looking last summer. Matt

The few boats I've seen come from fresh water where in great shape. Just go back and read the topic that Doug suggested. And welcome. Buzz

Do you plan to use if fresh water or salt? If salt is your answer then make sure you have the heat exchangers. I have seen fresh water boats that do not have heat exchangers and the salt water will ruin your engines.
